I was saddened to learn that Bellevue Regional Library is now closed on Sundays as of Nov. 3. It has become a quiet haven for students like my daughter who rely on it to get their serious studying done.
Congratulations, Lake Hills, for keeping its representation to the Bellevue Community going.
Once again, Medina makes the news, this time including one unopposed candidate questioning the integrity of the League of Women Voters.
Before coming to Bellevue/West Lake Hills 11years ago from New York City, I worked for a not-for-profit organization as a fair housing counselor. I was a strong advocate for housing that is affordable for both low and middle income individuals. I also witnessed first hand the dilemma and danger of illegal converted apartments in private homes, especially as it related to families with children.
The Bellevue Farmers Market celebrated 10 years this season and we kicked off our Saturday Market with a big move to the main pedestrian corridor on Northeast Sixth Street. The market is only sustainable with community support and we are thankful for all who generously contributed to our success.
The recent news Boeing is intending to transfer much of the 777X engineering work should be a warning to our states leaders.
The extensive Lake Hills Neighborhood has a unique voice with the East Bellevue Community Council. While Neighborhood Associations can come and go, the EBCC give the area between NE 8th, SE 28, 140th and 156th a legal voice in what happens in its jurisdiction.
Steve Kasner, candidate for City Council Position 4, has devoted 20 years of his life to improving Bellevue’s quality of life.
The election is still seven days away, and every single day for the past 10 days, we have received a glossy, multi-colored mailing from the Kevin Wallace campaign.
Lynne Robinson is a dynamic and accomplished leader. Her skills and experience will greatly benefit the city of Bellevue and the people of Bellevue.
As a Homeowner Association President, a neighbor and a friend, I have known Vandana and her family for a decade. She has been consistently and persistently engaged and active in supporting all things Bellevue, including her neighbors, her son’s schools and the greater community, in real, tangible ways.
My-Linh will be a tremendous asset as a school board member.
My-Linh Thai has already proven her qualifications to be a valued member on the Bellevue School Board.
As a Harvard trained economist, top graduate of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and successful business leader, Ed Luera has all of the skills, knowledge and experience that our School District will need to help guide the District as it deals with issues of overcrowding, enrollment forecasting, capital planning and efficient construction scheduling, righting our special needs programs, eliminating our achievement gap, diversity, etc. Ed Luera also offers our children heart.
I am writing today to endorse Ed Luera for position five on the Bellevue School Board. As a parent of two young children in the Bellevue School District, it is important to me that my children get the best education possible. The high quality of schools here is something we must not take for granted. That is why electing someone with the background, experience and compassion of Ed Luera is critical as we move forward with the challenges facing our district.
Vandana Slatter brings fresh perspectives that are solution-oriented, data-driven, and grounded in the concerns of our citizens.
Robinson is the superior candidate and will work more collaboratively with all members of the council to move Bellevue forward.
I met My-Linh in August, one week before becoming a Bellevue School District parent for the first time. I was impressed by her warmth, intellect, passion and dedication to the district.
Thai wants the best for the students and public education and always puts the needs of the students first.
I am supporting Ed Luera for Bellevue School Board, Position No. 5. Excellent education for every student and eliminating the achievement gap are two of his top goals.
