We are residents of the Somerset community, living around a cul-de-sac. Recently, on the island of the cul-de-sac, some damage to the shrubbery was incurred when soil samples were garnered for a future project. I contacted the city of Bellevue, which in turn, relayed the concern to Puget Sound Energy.
I’m mostly in agreement with Becky LaMonte’s recent letter condemning the unethical recruiting practices of the Bellevue High School football program, but I found one statement in her letter to be offensive: “They were all outstanding athletes and most times of African-American descent.”

The Reporter’s May 27 front-page story “Hate speech spurs Bellevue College students to question safety” highlights the hate speech campaign carried out towards the Muslim community. This should disturb all right-minded people if it is a matter of fact.
I don’t think Bellevueites that decided to raise chickens in the city have a clue that the chicken feed attracts rats. We didn’t have a rat problem until the people across the street started raising chickens. Now its rats, rats, rats.
