Residents and others can meet the four finalists to become Bellevue’s next Planning & Community Development director at a meeting Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m. at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.

It’s an opportunity to join business and community leaders who have been invited to meet and talk with each candidate, as well as to provide feedback to the city manager. The reception is part of the second round of the PCD director selection process, which also includes panel interviews and other activities.

In September, four finalists were chosen to be interviewed for the post. Following the interview process, however, City Manager Steve Sarkozy decided to reopen the search.

Candidate names and background information will be made public at the reception, in accordance with confidentiality arrangements with the finalists.

The candidates are vying for the position last held by Matt Terry, who retired in May 2010 after 30 years with the city. Currently, Dan Stroh is serving as Interim PCD Director until a replacement is selected.

Sarkozy expects to make a hiring decision later this month.
