King County’s small business award nominations open through July 26

Nominations for King County Executive’s Small Business Awards is open until July 26.

The award recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of small businesses throughout King County.

“Over 200 small business owners, entrepreneurs, and supporters of small business from across the County are expected to attend and show their support for this year’s finalists and winners,” according to King County Executive Dow Constantine’s office. “The event this year will celebrate and honor the success of small business with a continental breakfast, finalist displays, and recognition of this year’s winners.”

The event will take place September 21 with a continental breakfast and networking opportunity starting at 7:15 a.m. The awards event runs from 7:50-9 a.m.

Those interested in nominating a small business must do so using an online form at www.proprofs.com/survey/t/?title=2017-king-county-executives-small-business-awards-nomination-form.

Nominees must be located within the county, must have 50 or fewer employees and must be a for-profit business in operation for at least three years.

The categories include: Small Business of the Year, Minority Small Business of the Year, Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year, Exporting Small Business of the Year, Green/Sustainable Small Business of the Year, Workforce Small Business of the Year and Rural Small Business of the Year.

A business may self-nominate or be nominated by a chamber of commerce, a city or a business organization. Businesses can be nominated in more than one category, but will need to complete a separate nomination form for each entry.

All past winners and 2016 finalist are ineligible for nomination.
