Saints headed to state finals tomorrow | Prep soccer

Interlake has yet to allow a goal in the 2A state playoffs and will play Cedarcrest (Duvall) tomorrow for the state championship.

Interlake is one win from the trophy.

The Saints, which have still not surrendered a single goal in the playoffs, scraped past Archbishop Murphy 1-0 at Shoreline Stadium to move into tomorrow’s 2A state championship game against Cedarcrest (Duvall).

Cate Mueller found Emma Bergstrom in the 32nd minute for the only goal of the night and the Interlake defense again did the job, holding a fourth straight opponent scoreless.

“I’m blown away by these Interlake girls,” head coach Kirk Tavener said. “They know what it means to have heart and how to play as a team. They are a family and they play like it.”

The state title match takes place tomorrow at 4pm at Shoreline Stadium.
