Penn dominates Class 3A state track meet

Bellevue senior sets a meet record in the long jump

Bellevue Wolverines senior Tyson Penn turned in a performance for the ages at the Class 3A state track meet from May 26 through May 28 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Penn earned first place in the long jump with a leap of 24 feet, 1.25 inches. The jump was a new Class 3A state meet record. Penn also nabbed first place in the triple jump with a leap of 48 feet, 3.75 inches. He captured second place in the high jump (six feet, eight inches). Penn will play football for Oregon State University this fall.
