Liberty strikes early and often at Sammamish

The Patriots scored a run in every inning except the fifth on the way to an 8-3 KingCo 3A/2A baseball win over Sammamish in Bellevue on Tuesday.

Nick Hart led the way on the mound for Liberty (7-2, 6-1 league), the current conference leaders, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Hart was a home run short of hitting for the cycle.

Connor Sjolander picked up the win for the Patriots, allowing only three hits in seven innings of work.

Ryan Hashimoto took the loss for Sammamish (4-5, 3-4).

Mount Si 14, Interlake 1

The Wildcats scored 14 runs on 14 hits and broke a 3-1 game wide open with seven runs in the fifth inning in a big win over Interlake in Bellevue.

Rossco Castango and Zack Robinson each had three hits in the game for Mount Si (7-3, 6-3). Castango stole three bases in the win.

Tucker Edwards-King had a solid outing for the Wildcats, going five innings and allowing only one run on one hit.

Troy Peterson went 4 and 2/3 innings for the Saints (1-9, 1-8), taking the loss.

Newport 8, Ballard 0

Colin Hering went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs as Newport rolled past Ballard 8-0 at Whitman Baseball Field.

Victor King also knocked in two runs for the Knights (5-3, 4-2 KingCo 4A), who saw pitcher Brandon Andreini improve to 2-1 on the year with a six-inning, four-hit performance. Andreini struck out five and walked two.

Jordy Donald went three innings and took the loss for the Beavers (3-5, 2-4).
