Interlake takes Seamount tourney | Prep wrestling roundup

The Saints, led by six individual champions, captured the Seamount wrestling tournament with a team score of 186, well in front of second place Renton's total of 122.5.

Next season, Interlake will move back to Class 3A and again face KingCo opponents in postseason competition.

It’s doubtful anyone from Seamount will be complaining.

Daniel Montoya won the 132 pound weight class with a 2-1 overtime victory over Tyee’s Abraham Torres. Jake Wilson earned a decisive 13-0 victory over Khali Crowl of Renton at 145 punds and Jacob Marks pinned Lindbergh’s Thomas Richards at the 1:43 mark. Marks did not allow an opponent to score even a single point against him during the tournament.

Alex Giseburt topped Billy Marble of Tyee 12-4 at 160 pounds, Netto Cancilla pinned Lindbergh’s Trevonn Russell in 2:30 and Chad Peterson defeated teammate Ethan Spading 16-0 at 220 pounds.

Marcus Kopp (106) and Fine Nagauamo (285) also finished in second place while Douglas Mui (106), Grant Cole (113) and Nate Jochum (126) ended the tournament with a third place finish.

Each will head to the Region II tournament on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Centralia High School.

Bellevue takes four titles at 3A KingCo meet

Bellevue finished third in the team scoring at the 3A KingCo meet behind champion Mount Si and Mercer Island.

Christian Villani (113), Andy Ewing (126), Colin Small (145) and Jimmy Trull (220) each won individual championships while Peter Ovens and Dean Jones were runners-up at 152 pounds and 285 pounds respectively.

Sammamish finished with 45 points in the team scoring.

Yingling leads Knights

Newport finished in seventh place in the team scoring of the 4A KingCo meet behind champion Issaquah.

Top finishers for the Knights were David Yingling, who finished third in the 106 pound bracket, Matt Droker (fourth) and Diego Dwyer (fifth) at 113 pounds, Nikolay Lifshaz (fourth) at 160, Austin Curtis (fourth) in the 220 pound class and Albert Ballesteros (fifth) at 285 pounds.
