Outlook: Move from KingCo 3A to 4A will be a challenge to the Knights, but the return of many talented players bodes well for Newport. Kingma should have another solid year after earning 1st-Team All-KingCo honors as a freshman and sophomore, and Meehan has impressed thus far in 2008.
Bellevue Wolverines
League:KingCo 3A/2A
Coach: Ron Tinnin, 2nd year
2007 record: 21-7 (Went 1-2 in state, did not place)
Key losses: Joey Brazen, Jenika Swanson, Alex Sherk (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs), Alexis Kinney

Outlook: Bellevue’s only league losses last season came to teams now playing in KingCo 4A in Newport and Issaquah.
Experienced squad should be one of KingCo’s top teams, and a return to state is within its grasp.
Interlake Saints
League:KingCo 3A/2A
Coach: Scott Marcum, 6th year

Key returners: Sarah Anderegg, Jr., F; Sara Ostlund, Sr., G; Chandler Smidt, Jr., PG; Maddy Schiappa, Jr., G
Outlook: Interlake returns the most dynamic player in KingCo in Anderegg, a 1st-Team All-KingCo selection and the Bellevue Reporter’s Most Valuable Player from a season ago. Interlake also hopes to see a healthy Litia Ngauamo, who missed last season with an ACL tear after averaging 23 points per game on the Saints freshman team.
Sammamish Totems
League:KingCo 3A/2A
Coach: Ashley Blake, 1st year
2007 record: 1-19
Key losses: Ali Stillwell, Ashley Martin
Key returners: Zoe Gano, Sr., G; Kelly Darling, Soph., Post
Outlook: Young team seeks to build a foundation under new coach Ashley Blake, but will do so without the bulk of its offense with the graduation of Stillwell and Martin, who combined for 371 of Sammamish’s 533 points least season. Totems were outscored 1273-533 by opponents last season. Totems have their work cut out for them this season.
