Bellevue High School’s advanced leadership class will hold its second annual CBA Tournament on Wednesday, May 26 from 1-5 p.m.

The CBA Tournament is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in memory of Chase Baron Anderson, a 2007 Bellevue graduate who was killed in the spring of 2008 during a longboarding accident at the University of Washington.

“Chase was loved throughout the Bellevue community and it is our desire to remember and honor his legacy here at Bellevue,” said student Alyssa Gilbert in an email to the Reporter. “A well-respected athlete, Chase impacted so many students in the Bellevue community and we want to continue to remember all he has done for us.”

Students are encouraged to come to Bellevue’s main gym on the 26th for the tournament. Pizza will be sold for $2 a slice and there will also be CBA shirts ($15), sweatshirts ($30) and wristbands ($2) available to purchase. Donations will also be accepted.

Those who would like to donate or buy CBA gear with a check should make them payable to Bellevue High School. All profit and donations will be put towards the Chase Anderson Memorial Scholarship at Bellevue High School, which will be given to the senior that best resembles Chase’s character.
