Bellevue to face Serra in 2014, Sammamish hires new head coach | Prep football news

Two teams from the MaxPreps rankings will face off in Oceanside, Calif.

Bellevue will face another high profile, out-of-state opponent on the gridiron in 2014, after staying in state during its perfect 2013 season.

The Wolverines will travel to Oceanside, Calif., for a Saturday, Sept. 6 game against Serra (Gardena, Calif.) in the Honor Bowl, MaxPreps.com announced today.

The Bellevue-Serra contest will be the finale of an event that includes 10 games over four days and feature a pair of teams that lost one game combined and each finished in the national rankings.

Sammamish gets new head coach

While his current program headlines another national event, former Bellevue assistant Todd Craig will undertake a new challenge as the head coach at crosstown Sammamish.

Former Totems’ leader Brian Tucci stepped down from his position following the 2013 season and now turns to Craig, the JV head coach for the Wolverines last year, to turn around a program that won only a single KingCo game last season.
