Bellevue rolls Bonney Lake, headed to quarterfinals | Prep sports news

The first ever game at the girls soccer state tournament went as well as could be expected for the Wolverines, which beat Bonney Lake 5-0.

Bellevue got on the board early and often against Bonney Lake, winning the program’s first ever state playoff match 5-0 and keeping its season alive for the quarterfinal round.

Lillie French netted an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute to put her team on top and two minutes later, Jojo Harber found Isabelle Butterfield for an insurance tally that put the Wolverines up 2-0.

Sabrina Mohazzabfar and Sophie Butterfield added goals and Isabelle Butterfield tacked on another as well as Bellevue put away any doubt.

Goalkeeper Sam Fredman and the defense pitched another shutout as Bellevue won its sixth straight and earned its spot in the quarterfinals.

The win was the seventh time this year Bellevue has scored four or more goals and they have been held to fewer than two on only four occasions this season.

The date and time for the game were not determined as of the Reporter’s press time, with either Shorecrest or Auburn Mountainview coming to Wolverine Way for the quarterfinals.
