Bellevue, Interlake boys get wins | Prep basketball roundup

Bellevue and Interlake picked up wins on the boys side while the BCS girls held on for a 10 point win over Seattle Christian.

Boys basketball

Interlake 64 Granite Falls 62

The Saints erased a nine point halftime deficit to storm back for a two-point non-league victory behind the 19 points of Sam Finfer and 15 of Carl Snaring.

Riley Larsen scored a game-high 23 for Granite Falls, but it wasn’t enough to stave off the second half rally from Interlake.

Bellevue 61 Hazen 53

The Wolverines led throughout behind 13 points from Tyler Hasty, 12 from Timmy Haehl and 11 from Kyle Foreman to pick up the 61-53 win.

Frankie Johnson put in 20 for Hazen and Dawit Kasa finished with 19 in the loss. Cole Walton was also in double figures for Bellevue with 10 points.

Newport 50 Roosevelt 65

Senior guard Jake Fink scored 22 points for the Knights, but it wasn’t enough as AJ Edwards and the Roughriders got the 65-50 win.

Isaac Dotson was the only other Newport player in double figures with 10 as the Knights were outscored by 21 points in the middle two quarters.

Girls basketball

Seattle Christian 32 Bellevue Christian 42

University of Washington bound Katie Collier scored 16 points for Seattle Christian, but it wasn’t enough as Bree Oldham’s game high 21 points led the Vikings to the win.

Alina Valle added 12 more for BCS, which managed only two points in the third quarter.

Newport 42 Roosevelt 45

Casey Schoenlein put in 13 and Anna Crabtree added 10 more, but three Roosevelt players in double figures and an 11 point advantage over the final three quarters gave the Roughriders the win.

Newport built a 20-12 lead after the first quarter, but was unable to hold on as Katherine Woodworth (16), Tanner Adams (15) and Sydney Melkerson (12) paced Roosevelt.
