Boys lacrosse

Bainbridge 3 Bellevue 10

Hank Bethke scored four goals and dished out two assists as Bellevue began its two-time state title defense with a convincing win over Bainbridge.

The Wolverines trailed 2-0 after one, but quickly reversed the momentum as Eric Haehl added two goals and two assists.

Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) 7 NSI 5

Cooper Horton scored three goals for Newport-Sammamish-Interlake, but it wasn’t enough to top Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene in the season opening game.

Baseball

Sammamish 11 Foster 1

Nathan Aebi had three hits, and Tristan Cates and Dawson Conway each added two more as the Totems cruised to the season opening win.

Nick DeGallier picked up the victory on the mound, going four innings and striking out eight.

Softball

Glacier Peak 5 Newport 0

The Knights were held scoreless by 3A Glacier Peak in the season opener on the softball diamond.

Girls lacrosse

Bellevue 5 Eastside Catholic 20

The Crusaders got seven goals from Valerie Vachris and six more from Madeline Banks in the win over Bellevue.

The Wolverines were held scoreless in the second half.

Seattle Prep 2 Bellevue East 11

Camille Sullivan scored five goals and Bellevue East kept Prep off the scoreboard in the first half en route to the lopsided win.

Georgia Phillips scored two goals and Angela Navis, Cece Afman, Emily Hilyer and Fiona Campbell each scored for BELAX.

Lake Sammamish 14 Forest Ridge 4

Hannah Meier scored four goals for Forest Ridge in the season opening loss.
