Reverend John A. Bergman

The Reverend John A. Bergman, born on August 2, 1930 in Helena, Montana to Arthur and Edith Bergman, passed away on September 9, 2008 in Bellevue, Washington.John graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1953, and Fuller Theological Seminary in 1957. Further studies include Prairie Bible College, Alberta, Canada and North Park Seminary, Chicago, Illinois. In 1953 he married Nina Mason of Seattle. Ordained to the Christian ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church, he served as Senior Pastor to churches in Stillman Valley, Illinois, Warren, Michigan, Los Altos, California, and Bellevue, Washington.He is survived by his wife Nina; son, Scott Bergman of Bel-levue, Washington; daughter, Amy Hunter and her husband Jeff of Snoqualmie, Washington; four granddaughters, Shayla, Rachel, Rebecca and Kylie; his sister, MaryAnn Weld, and her husband Wayne of Crystal Lake, Illinois.A service of celebration will be held in his honor on Monday September 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Newport Covenant Church in Bellevue, Washington.
