Barbara Hobin Woodford

Barbara Hobin Woodford, 85, died peacefully Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Cypress Glenn East Nursing Home in Port Arthur, TX. Barbara was born on February 25, 1926 in Jackson, Michigan to Michael J. and Anne L. Hobin. She graduated from Jackson High School in December 1943 and attended Albion College. Her ambition was to be a homemaker, and she realized that dream when she married George M. Woodford in May 1951. They proceeded to have three sons, twins, Duncan Keith and George M. Woodford, Jr. and James Hobin Woodford. The family moved to Bellevue, Washington in 1962 where Barbara developed a love of sailing and gardening. She remained a resident of Bellevue until moving to Port Arthur in 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jane Elizabeth Coddington; her husband, George Woodford and infant son, George Woodford, Jr. She is survived by her 2 sons, Duncan Woodford and wife Phyllis of Nederland, James Woodford of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Dusty Lynn Thayer and grandson, James Cameron Woodford. A Gathering of her Family and Friends will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.
