Scott has an unmatched passion for sports and can’t wait to tell this community’s stories.

“Life is about building relationships with others and I can’t wait to make as many connections as I can and become part of this community,” Scott said.

Stilts, 31, grew up in Bellingham graduating from Western Washington University in 2005 with degrees in theater and psychology before returning in 2009 to earn his degree in journalism.

A community journalism veteran, Stilts and his wife moved to New England in 2010 where he spent four years working as a general assignment reporter for the Brattleboro Reformer in Vermont and as a reporter and editor for the Berkshire Eagle in Massachusetts.

“The future of journalism is dependent upon strong story telling and investigative work at the hyper-local level,” he said. “I’m honored to be joining this great team of news reporters and doing my part to make this publication the go-to news source for area residents wanting to know what’s happening on the Eastside.”

Stilts can be reached at 425-453-4290 or by email at jstilts@bellevuereporter.com.
