Property values arbitrary, capricious

Complaints about county's latest assessment values do no good.

What say you to the recent card in the mail from those “objective assessors” of King County?

I ask: “did you find gold/oil on your property”?”Did you install a swimming pool/spa in the basement/crawlspace of your house?”

“Did your assessed value go up over $70,000 dollars in one year?”

My answers are: NO, NO, YES!

After two attempts to challenge past increases, my latest in 2014, was meet with the answer “While the Appellant offered credible arguments and evidence, the Board finds the comparable sales adjusted for market timing and property differences demonstrate that the subject’s assessed value falls within the indicated market range for the January 1, 2013, valuation date in question.” Neal R. Cook, clerk of the Board 8/18/2014

I say enough is enough. “Value falls within…the market range” (their findings are both arbitrary and capricious).
