Student photos on display at Omega Photo

High school students showed off their photo talents in a contest sponsored by Omega Photo in downtown Bellevue.

The students, from Bellevue High School, Sammamish High School and Christ Church Academy, focused on the theme, “A Day in the Life.”

Out of 120 entries, 10 were picked as winners. The winning photos are on display through the end of May at Omega.

Scott Bennett, from Bellevue High, took first in the contest. He was awarded a Pentax K100D Super Digital SLR camera.

Other winners were: 2nd: Andrea Pappas, BHS; 3rd: Sione Lister, BHS; and Honorable Mention: Lexie Muromoto, BHS;

Riley Smith, BHS; Jordan McMillan, BHS; Izzy Phillips, BHS;

Emily Harmsworth, CCA; Kelly Wecker, BHS; and Serge Nelson, BHS.

Judges for the contest were professional photographer Darrel Gulin, noted amateur photographer Dale Fishel, noted long-time photo expert Brad Weeks, and past judge of many photography contests and amateur photographer Newell Burton.

Omega Photo is located at 1100 Bellevue Way N.E., #6. The photos can be viewed during store hours M-F 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Sat 10 a.m-6 p.m., and Sun noon-5 p.m.
