Republic Services has opened its new Customer Care Center in Bellevue. Residents and business owners can now drop off hard-to-recycle items at the center, located at 1600 127th Ave. N.E. Customer service hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

“We are thrilled to provide expanded recycling services to our customers, especially at a location that is so easily accessible,” said Jeff Borgida, general manager of Republic Services in Bellevue. “Reducing waste and recycling are ways we can all be better stewards of the environment.”

Republic Services is the largest recycling company in the region.

Customers will be able to swap carts, pay bills and pick up recycling guidelines, posters and labels.

Clean recyclables can be dropped off at the center, including:

* Aluminum, Tin

# Bicycles and bicycle parts

# Child car seats

* Cardboard

** Fluorescent bulbs and tubes

* Glass containers

# Hardcover books

**Household batteries

* Paper

* Plastic bags and film plastic (bagged together in one film plastic bag, tied with a loose

knot)

* Plastic containers

** Rigid plastics

** Scrap metal (less than two-feet square and free of wood, plastic, rubber and other non-metal substances)

** Small appliances and electronics (less than two-feet square)

# Small camping propane cylinders (empty)

# Styrofoam blocks

** Textiles

** Used cooking oil (in clear, one-gallon, screw-top jugs, marked with residents’ name and

address)

* Also available for curbside collection in the blue recycling container

Bulky waste items will not be accepted at the drop-off site. Those items carry an extra fee and include major appliances, furniture, mattresses and televisions larger than two-feet square. Call Republic Services for special collection at 425-452-4762.
