Kasner to hold campaign kick off for city council seat

Steve Kasner, a long-time Bellevue community leader, has filed for Bellevue City Council position 4 and will hold a campaign kick off from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at 14205 SE 36th St., in the Eastgate neighborhood in Bellevue.

 

Steve Kasner, a long-time Bellevue community leader, has filed for Bellevue City Council position 4 and will hold a campaign kick off from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at 14205 SE 36th St., in the Eastgate neighborhood in Bellevue.

Kasner has chaired the Bellevue Parks and Community Services Board and has served on the West Lake Hills Citizen’s Advisory Committee as well as the South Bellevue Community Center Advisory Committee.

Kasner was elected to the East Bellevue Community Council in 2006 and serves as the council chair.

Kasner said he wants to represent the whole city and support safe, viable, and livable neighborhoods.

“I have worked over the last 20 years serving the residents of Bellevue in various roles and positions.I have the ear and the trust of the city’s residents and neighborhoods. I’m very excited to be running to serve all of the people of Bellevue,” he said in a news release.

As the Chair of the East Bellevue Community Council, Kasner has worked to revitalize both the Lake Hills and Kelsey Creek shopping centers.

“These centers have brought new jobs to our community.As a city council member, I will represent residents and business leaders throughout our community,” Kasner said. “My goal is to support a positive business climate that enhances the quality of life throughout the city.”
