Hearing in Bellevue to discuss impacts of electronic tolling 520 bridge

The Washington State Department of Transportation will host a public hearing in Bellevue to discuss potential environmental effects of tolling on the State Route 520 Evergreen Point Bridge.

The hearing will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at the Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 110th Ave. N.E.

Representatives from WSDOT and the SR 520 project team will be available to provide information and answer questions. Hearing participants can hand in written comments or give verbal testimony to a court reporter concerning potential environmental effects of variable tolling the SR 520 bridge.

WSDOT plans to implement electronic tolling on the bridge if approved by the Washington State Legislature. Tolls, including prices that vary throughout the day, will help decrease traffic at the busiest travel times to improve traffic flow. Tolls will also be used to help fund the SR 520 bridge replacement.
