False alarm spoils good times at Lincoln Square

Parts of Lincoln Square were evacuated Jan. 23 after several fire alarms went off around 11 p.m.

Bellevue Police and Fire units responded to the incident.

Bellevue Fire Department spokesman Eric Keenan said the event was a false alarm, and there was no actual fire.

One witness said she was watching a movie at Lincoln Square Cinemas when “the emergency system told everyone to leave the building due to a problem in the building.”

Police were on scene to direct traffic and search for suspects, although they weren’t able to come up with any leads.

Multiple alarms were pulled during the incident, but they were not designed to mark the person who pulled them, according to Keenan.

“I think whoever did it just fled, and the police weren’t able to get anything,” he said.
