Election results: 48th Legislative District incumbents win

Patty Kuderer garners 70.45% of the vote for state senator, while Slatter and Walen win state representative races.

The 2022 election results for the 48th Legislative District are in. Here are the numbers as of Nov. 8.

State Senator

Patty Kuderer: 70.45% (17,193)

Michelle Darnell: 29.42% (7,179)

Patty Kuderer, who prefers the Democratic Party, ran on promises to revitalize the economy while continuing to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional priorities of hers include increasing affordable homeownership opportunities; funding for public schools; and creating robust infrastructure with public transit.

Michelle Darnell’s priorities are decreasing crime, increasing affordability and access to education and reducing taxes.

State Rep.

Vandana Slatter, who prefers the Democratic Party, will be the new State Representative Pos. 1, while Amy Walen, who also prefers the Democratic Party, will be the new State Representative Pos. 2.

Vandana Slatter: 95.22% (4.78% were write-ins)

Amy Walen: 95.08% (4.92% were write-ins)

Voter turnout for the 48th Legislative is 32.34% so far. Out of the 77,532 registered voters, 25,073 ballots were counted.

Results will be certified Nov. 29.
