Grant Degginger, a former member of the Bellevue City Council, has been named Public Employee of the Year by the Municipal League Foundation. Degginger, who also served as Bellevue’s mayor and deputy mayor, was honored for his thoughtful, moderate voice, the foundation said.

Degginger was one of eight honored at the foundation’s celebration dinner April 5.

The Municipal League is a volunteer-driven, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes government that is open, effective and accountable.
