Concert to feature young musicians, help Haiti

A local fundraising concert for Haiti will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21 at Northwest Pianos.

Called “Harmonies of Hope,” the concert will feature young musicians from the Eastside performing works by classical composers including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and others.

There is a suggested donation of $8 at the door. All donations received at the concert will go towards the nonprofit organization Friends of the Orphans.

Friends of the Orphans, in conjunction with the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (Our Little Brothers and Sisters), a network of orphanages and outreach programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, is dedicated to helping orphans in Latin America, especially those who have become orphaned as a result of the earthquake in Haiti.

Those set to perform are Erin Byrne, mezzo-soprano; Darien French-Owen, flute; Dong Hee Lee, violin; Koyo Kim, violin; Carina Vincenti, violin; Calvin Chan, cello; Adriana Cherskov, piano; Daniel Hwang, piano; Dong Won Lee, piano; and Tania Rivers-Moore, piano.
