Chemistry summer camp set

A week-long summer science class, Chemistry is a BLAST, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 4-8 at Newport High School in Bellevue.

 

A week-long summer science class, Chemistry is a BLAST, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 4-8 at Newport High School in Bellevue. The camp is designed to give students with an interest in science a chance to get hands-on experience with lab equipment and learn basic chemistry.

The camp is designed for incoming seventh and eighth grade students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and will teach the chemistry behind fire, tie-dye, color-changing reactions and more.

Cost is $249 and includes a T-shirt for tie-dying. There will be no additional breakage fee for lab equipment.

Campers will be expected to bring their own water bottle and snack for the mid-morning break each day.

The class will be held in Room 3114 at the high school, 4333 Factoria Blvd. S.E.
