St. Monica Catholic School Principal Anca Wilson announced last week that the campus would change its early release day to Wednesday to coordinate with STEM planning.

About a quarter of the K-8 school’s population comes from Bellevue.

The switch will align with Bellevue School District’s early release schedule and allow students to participate in after school activities tailored to said schedule, Wilson said.

The change will begin in the 2014-2015 school year.

St. Monica will be one of the first schools in the Seattle Archdiocese to implement Phase One of a move to a “project-based learning model” for science, technology, engineering, math and the arts.
