Bellevue resident named to board of Asian Counseling group

Debadutta Dash of Bellevue has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) for a three year term.

The ACRS is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization offering a broad array of human services and behavioral health programs to Asian Pacific Americans in King County. It is the largest multiservice organization serving all the different Asian Pacific American communities in the Pacific Northwest.

As a native of India, Dash worked for the Departments of Commerce, Argiculture and Co-operatives and traveled extensively around the world. He plays an active role in the community as volunteer, executive board member and also as the Vice-President and Co-publisher of Planetguru, the only South Asian newspaper and website in Washington. He is the former president of the India Association of Western Washington and the founder of the South Asian Music and performing Arts Resource Center. He has been a graduate of the United Way of King County Project LEAD Program and the ACLF Leadership Program in 2005.

Most recently, the group sales manager and service culture trainer for the Westin in Bellevue was appointed as one of the Ambassadors to the Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE).

The 2,000-seat premier center for the performing arts will bring national and international acclaimed musicians, theatre, and dance to audiences on the Eastside. As one of the Ambassadors for PACE, Dash will take part in driving the mission of enriching Eastside cultural life with a wide diversity of live entertainment, arts, and education.

PACE will be located in downtown Bellevue and is scheduled to open in 2012.
