Bellevue resident earns scholarship from Western Washington University

Western Washington University student Adekunbi Ajiboye, daughter of Uuwasayo and Monisola Ajiboye of Bellevue, has received a $2,000 Non-Resident President’s Scholarship under the Global Ambassadors Scholarship Program for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Western Washington University student Adekunbi Ajiboye, daughter of Uuwasayo and Monisola Ajiboye of Bellevue, has received a $2,000 Non-Resident President’s Scholarship under the Global Ambassadors Scholarship Program for the 2010-2011 academic year.

The Non-Resident President’s Scholarships are awarded to approximately the top 8 to 10 percent of incoming non-resident freshmen and transfer students and are based on superior academic achievement. The Global Ambassadors Scholarship Program is awarded to international transfer students who transfer directly from a Washington State community college with an associate’s degree, have a cumulative GPA above 3.0 and are not eligible for in-state tuition.

Ajiboye, a transfer student to WWU from Bellevue College, is planning to major in Behavioral Neuroscience.

Born in Nigeria, Ajiboye moved to the U.S. in elementary school She was a Multicultural Student Ambassador and president of the African Student Association.

Her professional goals include becoming a medical doctor.
