Bellevue resident earns President’s Scholarship from Western Washington University

Western Washington University student Emily Thomas, daughter of Tim and Kathy Thomas of Bellevue, received a $3,000 President’s Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Western Washington University student Emily Thomas, daughter of Tim and Kathy Thomas of Bellevue, received a $3,000 President’s Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

The President’s Scholarships are awarded to approximately the top 8 to 10 percent of incoming freshmen and transfer students and are based on superior academic achievement.

Thomas, an incoming freshman to WWU, earned a 3.9 GPA in high school. She was a recipient of the Washington State Certificate of Academic Achievement Award and a National Honor Society graduate. Thomas played with the Seattle philharmonic and taught music lessons at Easthill String.
