Bellevue native Alex Lofton has joined Organizing for America, a project of the Democratic National Committee. Lofton will serve as Southern Regional Director, at the group’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Lofton graduated from Sammamish High School in 2003 and began his work in politics in March of 2007 by volunteering at the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago. There, he served as an Illinois Field Intern while finishing his senior year at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

After graduating with degrees in Political Science and Global Health, Lofton became the Field Director for Georgia in the general election. Lofton moved to Ohio in September of 2008 to serve as a Deputy Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) Director.
