No response to booms on the 4th

Another 4th of July down the drain, and we’re not talking about the rain here. Every year, by the time we come home at about 7 p.m. after a party, the inferno starts – year in year out, even now since it is supposedly against the law. What good are laws if they are not enforced?

These are not just a few firecrackers we are talking about here, they sound like war cannons, very powerful. When we call 911, we are told in a less than polite voice its not an emergency worthy their involvement, especially since it rains. Furthermore they are too busy taking care of family abuse cases. We hear that year-in and year-out.

We live right next to Weowna Park, close to Vasa Park, and most of that stuff seems to come from people living down by the lake, but also from people within the park.

Do we have to burn a few houses down before the city enforces its laws? We need more police, especially in the hot spots. Ours is not the only one, we are sure.
