Leave our pocketbooks alone

Reading the April 25 opinion piece (Lean up, clean up the cars we drive) reminded me of the wife returning from a Nordstrom shopping trip with a maxed out credit card and telling her husband at home “look how much I saved.”

Just as the wife, the authors of the article carefully avoided mentioning the cost of their “green” bill to the state’s taxpayers. We are Taxed Enough

Already. Let them play their green utopia at their expense and not ours. Market forces have already been cleaning up the environment in the U.S. and other developed countries in an economically sensible pace much better than in undeveloped ones. We don’t need politicians to meddle with that process by reaching ever deeper into our pockets.
