Gladner will bring renewed transparency to Bellevue School Board | Letter

Hugh Gladner will bring new levels of openness and transparency to the Bellevue School Board. As a product of the Bellevue school system himself and with two BSD children, Hugh knows firsthand the frustration felt by the Bellevue community when they are not heard by the board.

The current board has voted unanimously on every single issue over the past four years, whether it be crumb rubber on our playing fields, school start times, increased incidents of bullying in BSD, or the selection of the superintendent, its odd that five people would reach consensus on every single issue.

Hugh will bring a renewed transparency to the school board, he will vote with his conscious whether aligned with the other directors or not. In addition, Hugh has committed to monthly town hall sessions to hear firsthand from the teachers, parents and students of BSD405.

Hugh is not a “know-it-all” he is a “learn-it-all,” he listens to everyone to better understand their viewpoints and uses that input to reach sound decisions.

He has spent countless hours volunteering with Bellevue youth and in particular at-risk youth. I have witnessed firsthand the leadership and caring Hugh embodies, as a volunteer at Jubilee Reach, Hugh advocated for all the kids and helped them succeed in their own way.

Please vote Hugh Gladner for school board.
