I hope the citizens of Bellevue will join me in expressing appreciation for the thoughtful, balanced, well-informed , selfless, honest, and, above all, effective service that Grant Degginger has given us as council member, mayor and member of the Planning Commission.

He and many of his predecessors and colleagues have helped make our city a highly desirable place to live and work, with thriving neighborhoods and business districts, a vibrant downtown, beautiful parks, first rate police and fire departments, and excellent city services.

I am disappointed that some of his current colleagues have not been conducting themselves in the respectful, collaborative manner that until recently has made our City Council so effective.
