The final Space Shuttle mission is set for Feb. 26, 2011. After that, the three remaining shuttles – Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavor – will head to museums where they will go on public display.
One of the sites in the running is the Museum of Flight here in Seattle. It would be a perfect choice.

Four members of the County Council are balking at putting a sales tax boost on the August ballot.
Reagan Dunn and Jane Hague (both of whom represent portions of Bellevue), Kathy Lambert and Peter von Reichbauer don’t like the idea of raising taxes while taxpayers still are climbing out of a recession.
Good for them. Let’s hope this sends a message to the rest of the County Council.

In case you’ve ever wondered – no, they don’t know what they’re doing in Olympia.
Well, Senate Democrats, at least.
Fresh after voting to gut Initiative 960 and its tax-limiting provisions, the Senate Ds were back again. Seems they gutted the wrong version of the bill, Senate Bill 6130. Their first attempt merely sliced open the law. What they really wanted to do was scatter the entrails so that it will be hard to put the bill back together. The second time was the charm, so to speak.
