Bellevue captures win against Interlake

The Bellevue Wolverines nabbed a 33-7 win against the Interlake Saints on Oct. 7 in Bellevue. The Wolverines (2-1) will host Mercer Island at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Bellevue Memorial Stadium in Bellevue. The Saints (4-2) will play the Lake Washington Kangaroos at 7 p.m on Oct. 14 in Kirkland.

Vikings defeat Knights in high-scoring contest

The Inglemoor Vikings registered a 40-28 win against the Newport Knights on Oct. 7. Newport (1-5) will host the Eastlake Wolves at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Newport High School in Factoria.

Rainier Beach earns victory against Sammamish

The Rainier Beach Vikings cruised to a 41-7 win against the Sammamish Totems on Oct. 7 in Seattle. The Totems (3-3) will host Ingraham at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14 in Bellevue.

Vikings nab first victory of 2016 season

After five consecutive losses to start the season, the Bellevue Christian Vikings finally found themselves in the win column. The Vikings defeated the Chimacum Cowboys 30-23 on Oct. 7. Bellevue Christian (1-5) will host Coupeville at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 in Bellevue.

BASEBALL

FirstSwing Foundation is hosting camps

The FirstSwing Foundation is hosting its 13th annual Thanksgiving hitting, pitching and catching camp at Kellogg Middle School on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20. The camps will focus on the basics of hitting, defense, pitching and throwing and will include six to 12 hours of professional instruction. The camp is for players between 6 and 16 years of age. Wolverines sweep Kangaroos

The Bellevue Wolverines cruised to a 3-0 victory against the Lake Washington Kangaroos on Oct. 5. Bellevue improved their overall record to 8-2 with the win. The Wolverines will host Mercer Island in a battle between the two top KingCo 3A league squads on Oct. 17 in Bellevue.

Interlake dominates Juanita

The Interlake Saints rolled to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-23, 25-20) win against the Juanita Rebels on Oct. 5. Interlake improved their overall record to 6-5 with the win. The Saints will face the Lake Washington Kangaroos at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 in Kirkland.

Knights win close contest against Inglemoor

The Newport Knights edged out the Inglemoor Vikings courtesy of a 3-2 win on Oct. 5. Newport (6-4) will face the Eastlake Wolves at 7 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Eastlake High School in Sammamish.

Seattle Christian defeats Bellevue Christian

Seattle Christian earned a 3-1 win against the Bellevue Christian Vikings on Oct. 5. Bellevue Christian (5-4) will host Granite Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 in Bellevue.

SOCCER

Seattle Christian nabs win

Seattle Christian defeated the Bellevue Christian Vikings 2-1 on Oct. 4. Bellevue Christian (2-4-2) will host Coupeville at 4 p.m. on Oct. 15 in Bellevue.

Falcons topple Knights

The Woodinville Falcons registered a 4-2 win against the Newport Knights on Oct. 6. Newport (2-8-1) will host the Bothell Cougars at 8 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Newport High School in Factoria.

Bellevue defeats Sammamish in rivalry matchup

The Bellevue Wolverines cruised to a 2-0 win against the Sammamish Totems on Oct. 6. Bellevue improved their overall record to 8-0-2 with the win while Sammamish dropped to 1-9. Bellevue will face Mercer Island in a battle between the two top teams in the Class 3A KingCo League on Oct. 13.

                                Bellevue resident Kevin Doyle captured the E2 Class win at National Auto Sports Association’s renowned 25 hours of Thunderhill presented by Hawk Performance on Dec 2-3. The race, which took place at Thunderhill Raceway Park in California, had more than 50 amateur and professional race teams throughout the United States. Doyle’s KD Motorsports team turned 664 laps on a 3-mile long road course, logging 1,992 miles during the endurance race. “We lost every gear but fourth (gear),” Doyle said. “We had oil pressure issues. We were down to our backing plates on the rear brakes, so it was metal on metal on the back. We were getting everything we could.”
