Dottie McClure

Dottie McClure, loving wife, mother, granny, sister and friend, passed away on October 17, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born to Glendon and Katie Hisel on May 14, 1942 in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up there with her siblings Rose and Glenn.

Dottie graduated from Lafayette High School, and then joined the Education Department at the University of Kentucky. At the University, she met Mark, her future husband. In 1966, Dottie drove across the country to marry Mark, who had taken a job at Boeing in Seattle. They moved to Bellevue in 1971. There, Dottie began her years as a dedicated mother and homemaker. After many years of being home with her children, she worked at Microsoft until she retired in 1997.

Dottie was a lovely woman who treasured her family and friends. A cheerful and loving person, she enjoyed family outings and coffee with friends. Dottie never missed a chance to see her grandsons, bake treats, sew, read, and travel. An avid gardener and cook, she loved beautiful flowers and good foods. Her life was filled with love and joy, and she will forever be missed.

Dottie is survived by her husband Mark; her sister Rose and brother Glenn; her children Angie and Scott; and two grandsons, Kody and Brady.

A memorial service to celebrate Dottie’s life will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 325 SE Darst St., Issaquah, at 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 10th. Friends are invited to visit the family’s online guest book at www.flintofts.com.
