Day of peace to be observed

Eastside Friends Meeting (Quakers) will celebrate the International Day of Peace on Sunday, Sept. 21. The group is inviting members of all faiths to join them.

Eastside Friends Meeting (Quakers) will celebrate the International Day of Peace on Sunday, Sept. 21. The group is inviting members of all faiths to join them.

A social time with dessert begins at 6:30 p.m. Multi-generational activities to expand peacemaking will be from 7-8:30 p.m. The celebration will be held at Eastside Friends Meetinghouse, 4160 158th Ave. S.E., Bellevue (off Newport Way).

Parking is very limited and carpooling is advised. Disabled parking is available at the Meetinghouse. Shuttles will provide transportation from additional parking provided by The Sanctuary of Praise, 15800 S.E. Newport Way. The International Day of Peace has been observed annually around the world since its establishment by the United Nations in 1981.
