Totems advance to state tournament

Sammamish earned a spot in the Class 2A state baseball tournament courtesy of a 10-2 win against the Steilacoom Sentinels on May 14. Sammamish lost its next contest 8-4 to Port Angeles but still clinched a berth to the big dance with the win against Steilacoom. Sammamish, which is the sixth seed out of the West Central/SeaKing 2A tourney, will face Selah in the first round of the Class 2A state tournament at 1 p.m. on May 21 at Ferris High School in Spokane.

BOYS TRACK

Wolverines earn second place at KingCo 3A championships

The Bellevue Wolverines nabbed second place at the Class 3A KingCo championships, compiling 105.5 team points on May 13 at Juanita High School in Kirkland. Juanita captured first place with 115 team points. Will Swanson (javelin), Tyson Penn (high jump, long jump, triple jump) and Alexander Hamilton (pole vault) captured first place finishes in their respective events.

Interlake tallies fourth place finish at KingCo 3A championships

The Interlake Saints captured fourth place at the Class 3A KingCo championships, tallying 49.5 points on May 13 at Juanita High School in Kirkland. Dante Paszkeic (800) and Luke Beauchamp (1600, 3200) nabbed first place in their respective events.

Saints capture third place at KingCo 3A championships

The Interlake Saints nabbed third place at the Class 3A KingCo championships, tallying 68 total team points on May 13 at Juanita High School. Riley Brown (100), Ellie Erikson (800) and Rikita Bansal (long jump, triple jump) collected first place finishes in their events.
