As your local paper, we pride ourselves on bringing you the best coverage of sports in our area.

So when the Wolverines travel to Texas to take on the Katy Tigers on September 12, we’ll be there.

Photographer Chad Coleman and I will travel to Texas to cover the “Clash of the Champions II” when Bellevue, the defending Washington State 3A champions, takes on Katy, the defending Texas 5A champs.

It’s the best of Washington vs. the best of Texas, and we’re there for you.

Here’s what you can expect for our coverage.

In our Wednesday, Sept. 9 issue, we’ll tell you all about how this game came about. We’ll bring you an inside look on the game, the players involved, and we’ll tell you just who these Katy Tigers are.

Sept. 12 is game day. In that issue, you’ll get a chance to see who the impact players are, and just how Bellevue stacks up against Katy.

Finally, in our Sept. 16 issue, you’ll read all about how the big game went. You’ll get a chance to see lots of great shots from the game from Chad, and you’ll get a chance to read just what Texas football is all about.

In addition to our print coverage, you’ll be able to follow all the action online at the Bellevue sports blog, From the Sidelines, at www.blogs.bellevuereporter.com/sidelines. You’ll be able to follow our trip from start to finish and find tidbits you won’t get anywhere else.

You’ll also be able to find up-to-the-minute action on the blog, as well as read about the game the second it ends.

We also have a few surprises up our sleeves in terms of coverage, but we don’t want to give everything away yet.

We make it our goal to bring you the best coverage we can for your local sports – and this is just an example of how we try to go the extra step to reach that goal.

So look forward to the upcoming issues, and please, don’t hesitate to shoot me an e-mail with any questions or comments.
