Special Olympics Washington raises $12,000 at Tam o’Shanter | Community sports news

Special Olympics athletes in Bellevue and Federal Way were in need of funding, so a local business and golf course teamed up.

Equinox Business Law Group recently raised more than $12,000 with a silent auction and wine tasting from several Washington wineries at Bellevue’s Tam o’Shanter Golf & Country Club. The event benefited Special Olympics Washington.

The money was used to purchase sports equipment for team members in Bellevue and Federal Way, with the Bellevue athletes receiving essentials for softball and the Federal Way group receiving cleats, shin guards, benches and money for new uniforms.

“We are honored to support these athletes whose stories and determination provides inspiration to us all,” said Michelle Bomberger, founder and managing attorney of Equinox Business Law Group.
