Sophomore quarterback leads Knights

Newport signal caller Brandon Steinberg is elusive in the open field

Newport Knights sophomore quarterback Brandon Steinberg played the game of his life against the Inglemoor Vikings in a battle between Class 4A KingCo football squads.

Steinberg scored four rushing touchdowns in the Knights’ convincing 58-30 win against the Vikings on Sept. 25 at Newport High School.

The sophomore signal caller scored on on runs of 83 yards, 56 yards, 26 yards and 62 yards. It was the most touchdowns he’s ever scored in a game at any level, Steinberg said.

“Our line did a fantastic job. They made some huge holes. I had the opportunity to get into some space and just go to work,” Steinberg said.

Recently the Bellevue Reporter had an opportunity to ask Steinberg a few questions about his life away from the football field.
