A local soccer team finished in second place at an Italian soccer tournament and a prep superstar competed for a spot in the Olympics.

Bellevue team takes second at Italian soccer tournament

The Lake Hills Select Storm, a soccer team comprised of girls from Bellevue, Interlake, International, Sammamish and other area high schools, finished in second place at the Italy Cup in Cesenatico, Italy recently.

Williams competes at Olympic Trials

Bellevue Christian’s Kim Williams, who swims with the Bellevue High School and Bellevue Club swim teams, competed at the U.S. Olympic Swim and Dive Trials in Omaha, Neb. recently.

Williams, who won a state title in the 100 meter breaststroke for the Wolverines during the prep season, swam in the 400 meter individual medley in Omaha but did not make it out of her heat.
