Sammamish rowers find success at National Championship regatta

The Sammamish Rowing Association sent four boats with 31 total athletes to the Youth National Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 11-13.

Crews from seven regions around the United States met to compete in heats, semi-finals and crews on a 2,000 meter course.

The Women’s Lightweight 8+ took home a first place medal in the Petite final, while the Men’s Lightweight 8+ finished second in the C final.

The Men’s Youth Quad took third and the Women’s Youth Eight placed sixth overall.

The Sammamish Rowing Association brought the most youth athletes to the National Championships from any rowing organization in the Northwest. The SRA is a non-profit, community rowing program with more than 135 junior rowers from more than 40 schools on the Eastside and Seattle.
