Newport brought a tournament championship home from Bend, Ore. with three straight wins in the Les Schwab Holiday Tournament.
Coach Steve Haizlip’s Knights opened with a 64-54 win over Sandy (Oregon) before a 66-53 win over Horizon Christian.
A 46-38 win in the tournament title game over Mountain View gave Newport the crown. Seniors Isaac Dotson and Miles Fowler were all-tournament team selections for their performances over the weekend.
Bellevue split its four games at the MaxPreps Holiday Tournament in California, falling to Antelope 74-71 in the opener and Archbishop Miller 63-54.
The Wolverines handled Ridgeland (Mississippi) 66-48 before defeating Sea-King foe O’Dea 69-52.
Sammamish lost a pair of games in Yakima at the Sun Dome Shootout, 55-51 to Kennewick and 66-54 to Toledo.
Interlake lost a non-league game to Bishop Blanchet 64-49.
