Newport junior outside hitter Casey Schoenlien was named 4A KingCo Player of the Year for the 2012 conference champions, leading three Knights on the first team.
Fellow Juniors Anna Crabtree, an outside hitter, and Emmy Freed, a setter, joined Schoenlien on the first team for Newport. Junior libero Kristina Mills was the lone second team selection while Suzanne Dahl and India Gants were honorable mention selections.
The Knights finished the season with a 1-2 record at the 4A state tournament after falling 3-2 to Richland in the consolation bracket semi-finals.
Head coach Jeremy Brown was selected for the Russ Kerwin Coach of the Year Award to round out the honors.
Jessie Marvin was the lone second team selection from Bellevue, and was joined by Interlake’s Carolyn Fordyce and Kendall Davis.
Elise Berberoglu of Bellevue, Margo Parker and Danielle Niemann of Interlake and Christiane Hunt and Denali Conway of Sammamish were honorable mention selections for 2A/3A KingCo.
Bellevue and Mount Si shared the sportsmanship award.
