Knights crush Wildcats

The Newport Knights baseball team cruised to a 9-0 win against the Mount Si Wildcats on April 17 in Factoria. Newport starting pitcher Todd Reese allowed no runs and surrendered a mere two hits in five innings of work on the hill. Newport scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Knights, who are currently in first place in the Class 4A KingCo Conference with an overall record of 11-2, will face the Skyline Spartans at 4 p.m. on April 24 in Sammamish.

Bellevue defeats rival Interlake

The Bellevue Wolverines defeated the Interlake Saints 10-2 on April 17 in Bellevue. Bellevue (12-2) finished the game with 15 hits and scored six runs in the first two innings of play to set the tone. Interlake (7-7) had two hits and score a run in the top of the first and the top of the sixth.

Wolverines sweep Rebels

The Bellevue Wolverines cruised to a 6-0 win against the Juanita Rebels on April 17 in Bellevue. In singles action, Aly Du, Meredith Barry, Emily Huang and Brooke Chang collected victories in two sets. In doubles play, Corey Chang, Shayna McDonald, Tracy Monk, Claire Johnson, Elise Berberoglu and Sasha Williams earned wins.
