Interlake's Jacob Marks won the championship at 152 pounds to lead a host of Saints with top-five finishes

Interlake earned a number of top-five finishes at the Everett Classic wrestling tournament at Jackson High School, led by the 152 pound championship of Jacob Marks, his second consecutive title at the tournament.

Marks dominated Austin Gershmel 17-1 in the second round after a bye and followed that with a pin of Newport’s Sean Sternberg in only 23 seconds.Marks finished the tournament with an 8-0 defeat of Collin Natterstad from Edmonds-Woodway.

At 145 pounds, Jake Wilson reeled off three straight wins before falling in the championship match by a score of 3-1.

Daniel Montoya (132), Netto Cancilla (195) and Chad Peterson (220) earned third place finishes, John Harmon (126), Alex Giseburt (160) and Fine Ngauamo (285) ended in fifth and Grant Cole took fourth place in the JV tournament.

The Saints earned a sixth place finish in the team scoring.

Lake Washington 58 Interlake 48

The Saints held a two point advantage at the half but were outscored 34-22 in the final two quarters of a 58-4 loss to Lake Washington.

Bellevue 50 Juanita 57

Katie Savard scored 15 points to pace the Wolverines, which led by four points heading into the fourth quarter in a 57-50 loss to Juanita.
